It's been a while

There is a lot of preparation that goes into making an album. It takes longer than you think. The one I am making now started around January 2021 when I first made notes for a song called 'Why Don't You Just Dance?" - the bass drum heavy rhythm was playing in a dream about being in a nightclub and hearing the dirtiest heaviest groove ever. Then in June 2023 I had another dream in which a melody was still in my head when I woke up, this developed into 'Find Your Way Home'.
Later in 2023 I revisited I song a started in 1991 and finished it - that one is 'Been Caught Cheating' - also about a dream.
In 2024 I started writing about my mum's struggle with dementia - this is 'Sundowning' and that one has been recorded. I also began rewriting and rearranging my song 'We Are Beautiful People', which is now called 'All of the Good Things' - it is almost finished. Another version of this was performed by the Dudley Choir - you can watch that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9b12B2lcng&list=FL0lAAFB8shdAP7weBhd1g5g the video is the whole show but Good Things starts at 1hour 41 minutes.
In March 2025, I wrote a new song called 'Together We Will Shine' - it was performed at that same show - check out 1 hour 20 minutes.
Then there is a new version of 'Into Focus'; a reworking of 'Go Country' and a few others. There is a point when there is so many things flying around my brain, it is impossible to fix anything down.
And all this goes on while I write a children's book and run a monthly local songwriting support group. So I guess I am saying I haven't been sitting around doing nothing, even this website suggest nothing is happening... I never ever stop. So make sure you come back soon ya hear.
