A month and almost five songs written

It has always amazed me how as a writer you start with nothing. You worry you have nothing. Then there is something and from that something comes more things. And then you wonder why you worried about the time you had nothing.

You often hear a quote about sculptors, and how they saw a figure in a block of stone and set about freeing it with their chisel. There is a similarity with a writer freeing a song, how they find words and melodies, except the composer doesn't even have a block of stone to work with. From nothing we have written these songs.
